Privacy

This page describes how the site works on the date at the foot of it. It is short, because the site is a set of plain files.

What this site collects

The site’s own pages set no cookies; the one cookie a visitor can receive comes from the hosting provider and is described below. Nothing is written to local or session storage. No script of any kind runs in your browser on this page: there is no analytics tag and no tag manager. There are no accounts, no comment fields and no forms, so there is nothing for you to submit.

Nothing is counted by the site itself: no tally of visits, of pages or of where you came from.

Every page is a plain file, and the stylesheet, the fonts and the data are all served from this domain, so displaying a page does not require your browser to fetch anything from another company.

What the server records

Delivering a page requires the server to receive the request, so like almost every web server it keeps standard access logs: the IP address that asked, the time, the page requested and the browser’s own description of itself. Those are used to serve the site and to deal with abuse and faults, and the hosting provider that runs the server handles them on the site’s behalf.

The hosting provider also screens requests before they reach a page. A request that comes from a hosting network rather than a home or mobile connection, or that asks for pages faster than a person reads them, may first be shown a short automated check. A browser that passes it holds one cookie from the provider, named cf_clearance, for up to thirty minutes, so that it is not asked again; the cookie records that the check was passed and nothing else. Most visitors never see the check and never receive the cookie.

Advertising

On the date below, no advertising is shown and no advertising code runs on any page. The site has applied to Google AdSense, Google’s advertising programme. Each page carries one line of text naming the AdSense account, and the site publishes the list of sellers authorised to place ads on it at /ads.txt; neither makes your browser fetch anything.

If ads are shown, they will be served by Google. Third-party vendors, Google among them, use cookies to serve ads based on a visitor’s earlier visits to this and other websites, and Google’s advertising cookies let it and its partners do so. Personalised advertising from Google can be switched off in Google’s Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com), and from many other vendors at aboutads.info. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland will first be asked, through a consent message, whether to allow that, with the option to decline. None of this is in place today; when it is, this page will describe it and the date below will change.

If this changes

Sites grow things that collect data: advertising, analytics, an embedded map or video. If anything of that kind is added here, this page will describe it and the date below will change. So this is the page to check, rather than one to assume.

Your rights, and getting in touch

The access logs above are the only record of your visit. To ask what they hold, or to have an entry removed, write to coeffarchive@gmail.com.

The same address is the right one for anything else: a wrong score, a club under the wrong name, a season that looks off. Corrections are welcome and are the main reason this address exists.
